Austin Powell (Standing Ovation) Phone Interview!...

Hi girls!Schmiddlebopp er here! Want to get to know Austin Powell a little better? (And since he's super cute I have a feeling many of you do!) Well, I spoke to Austin on the phone last week about his new movie "Standi ng Ovation" and here's what he had to say to all the amazing AllyKatzz girls:

Q: Why do you think AllyKatzz girls will be so interested in going and seeing "Standing Ovation"?

A: Because the movie's a lot of fun! It'sa big family musical whose message is to go after your dreams and that families should stick together.

Q: How did you feel when you landed a role in "Standing Ovation"?

A: I had gone through the normal audition process and each time I got a call back I would be asked to bring my guitar. On my last call back, when I found out I got cast, I wasn't asked to being my guitar because they didn't want to waste any time. I was finishing up with my last audition when I was told I got the part. Normally they call you, but I was just told then and there! What was funny was that Stuart (the director) told me so casually. It was such a life changing moment and the only way I can describe it is by saying it felt like I had gotten hit with a glass of water. I was speechless.

Q: What experience did you have before filming the movie?

A: this was my first film, but I have been acting and singing my whole life. I grew up in Las Vegas and did theater there. Doing theater prepared me for what was to come and it taught me so much about acting. I really believe the best practice is being on stage. You can read about performing and study it, but until you actually get on stage you don't start to truly learn.

Q: Standing Ovation takes place in a high school setting - what was your schedule like between school and filming?

A: This all happened during my first year in High School. Eventually I got home schooled, and my teachers back home were really supportive. They all told me it was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

*When I asked Austin is there were any embarrassing moments he was trying to think of what to say and the producer jumped in and said "Austin is a smooth cat." See ladies, he really is dreamy! ;)

Q: What do you hope to do in the future?

A: I plan on doing more things in the movie business. And I'd like to do more music and acting, too. This experience taught me that my destiny really is in this business and that this is what I am meant to be doing. It's the most amazing thing I've ever done.
